O’Level Subjects and Requirements

Your O’Level subject plays a great role in deciding if a candidate is qualified to study a course or not. As a UTME candidate who wants to study English And Literary Studies, you are expected to possess at least five (5) SSCE credit passes which must include:

1). Literature in English.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics.
4). And any two (2) subjects which must be Arts subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY

1). KSU requires at least five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes which must include Literature in English, English Language, and three (3) other subjects in Arts or Social Sciences.

2). UNN requires a Science subject.

3). FED-OYEEKITI also requires at least five (5) ‘O’ level credit pass in one Science subject and at least a pass in Mathematics.

4). NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Literature in English, English Language, and any other three (3) subjects, two (2) of which must be Arts subjects.

UTME candidates should not forget that English Language is a Compulsory subject for English and Literary Studies. The remaining three (3) UTME subjects required for the course include:

  • Literature in English, one (1) other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements For English and Literary Studies

If you don’t intend to apply for admission to study English and Literary Studies through UTME then you must ensure that you meet the conditions listed below for a Direct Entry admission to study English and Literary Studies:

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes which must include Literature in English and one (1) other Arts subject.

2). UNIABUJA requires the same as English Language.
